Job description

OVERALL DESCRIPTION
SEPTA's Contract Operations Department, which provides small bus service in West Philadelphia (Lucy), Bensalem (Cornwells Heights RRD Train Station Circular) and Horsham (Horsham Breeze), is seeking individuals who are interested in working full-time as small bus operators.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Hours are flexible and varied, depending on the needs of the service.
  2. The full-time positions require a minimum of 40 hours per weeks.
  3. The ideal candidate will be available to work a wide range of hours or is available to work consistently for fixed period of times (i.e. AM shifts or one/two days a week).
  4. Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public, self and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others.

ADDITIONAL SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • A CDL Class B Driver's License is preferred for this position.
  • You must also possess a high school diploma or GED and have a willingness to work in the challenging field of mass transit.
  • The wage rate increases consistently during the first two and a half years, reaching top rate after 30 months.
