Are you ready to join a dynamic team and play a crucial role in shaping the future of material handling? We are actively seeking dynamic SM Technicians to join our rapidly growing team out of our De Pere location. SM Technicians specialize in performing scheduled maintenance jobs in the field for our customers on customer premises – meeting and exceeding customer’s expectations. Technicians are provided with a company service van, service laptop, iPad, credit card, and cell phone. We have internal support staff to assist, as well as free technical training through our factory certified in-house trainers, and in-the-field technical support! SM Technicians are needed to service our customers in the Green Bay and Lakeshore areas.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Travel to customer to complete all jobs that are assigned to you.
  • Maintain inventory in service vehicle – filters, oil, etc.
  • Attend service training classes offered to maintain knowledge on new products, or for refreshers on products not encountered too often.
  • Complete and submit all paperwork daily for jobs worked on (time cards, maintenance reports with customers’ signature). Paperwork must be completed at job site before leaving for the next job, or going home.
  • Communicate with dispatcher and/or service office as to status of jobs and availability for new jobs.
  • While completing jobs, look for any additional items that may need repair or appear to be worn – inform customer, especially if safety related (example: lights, backup alarms).
    • Inform supervisor of possible additional items so they can follow up with customer, and note on maintenance report
    • If repair is something you can take care of with customer’s permission, do so.
  • Develop and maintain relationship with territory sales representatives to keep them informed of sales opportunities you might see.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of company truck. Report any repairs needed to vehicle to supervisor.
  • Always adhere to safety rules and policies at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Must be mechanically inclined with solid base skills on powered industrial equipment.
  • Must successfully complete any training courses required.
  • Strong customer orientation.
  • Must be a good communicator – written and verbal.
  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Basic computer proficiency and laptop fundamentals.
  • Must own tools necessary to perform repairs, per our recommended tool list.
  • Must have a phone line at home (needed for faxing paperwork to service office daily, as needed)
  • Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Must be certified to operate material handling equipment.
  • Commitment to company vision and mission.
