Job description

Slot Tech

The Slot Tech is responsible to monitor the performance of electronic gaming devices, activity, and conditions of casino gaming areas ensuring all slot machines are operable and in good repair. Ensure compliance with approved procedures for the slot areas in a professional manner. The Slot Tech is a first level ambassador for guests enjoying their gaming experience at a gaming device. Protects company assets by adhering to company policies and all state and regulatory compliance to include Internal Controls Policies and Procedures and the Responsible Gaming Plan. The Slot Tech is responsible for providing Hometown Hospitality and delivering Fun.

General Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for guest service with energy and professionalism, providing Hometown Hospitality and delivering Fun.
  • Maintains the electronic components, systems, and peripherals of gaming machines.
  • Repairs and modifies components, electric systems and peripherals of the gaming machines and kiosks.
  • Configures slot and video machines to meet manufacturers and regulatory agency specifications.
  • Removes, moves, installs and/or upgrades slot machines.
  • Maintains an inventory of parts for the slot machines.
  • Monitors and tracks the slot machine malfunctions, the cause, the repair, and the parts involved.
  • Tracks and records all test money usage and testing results.
  • Notifies shift supervisor of irregularities in customers play.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
  • Effectively handles customer concerns and requests.
  • Maintains complete confidentiality of all company information at all times.
  • Acts in the capacity of other positions on an as needed basis.
  • Performs all job duties in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management.

Working Conditions:

  • Must have ability to: Be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 75 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces. Stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Possess professionalism and ability to handle high levels of stress. Must be flexible with all different schedules. Days-off and shift may be subject to change during employment dependent on company need. Must be able to work overtime when needed. This position spends majority of the shift on the casino floor, and is subject to varying levels of crowds, noise levels, and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume. Associates degree in electronics or related field preferred, High School Diploma or equivalent required. Ability to: read, analyze, interpret and comprehend technical procedures, government regulations, business periodicals, instructions, and correspondence/memos. Maintain confidential information.

Compliance Responsibilities:

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
  • Obtain required license(s).
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member's department.
  • Have knowledge of the Property's programs to address problem gambling.
  • Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with the state regulations and Systems of Internal Controls.
  • Take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
  • Reports any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member that they have knowledge of.
