Job description

Job purpose
The primary responsibility for Machine Operator/Slicer is to attend machines while the machines slice parts. The operator is responsible for maximizing the quantity of parts while maintaining the quality of parts.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Installs proper oils and coolants.
  • Adjusts machines accordingly for quality and quantity.
  • Removes swarfs and old coolants from machine and properly disposes of them.
  • Changes machine oils, coolant and filters.
  • Cleans machine and coolant tanks when necessary.
  • Maintains tooling to perform at maximum efficiency.
  • Maintains proper quality and quantities of manufactured materials.
  • Operate multiple slicing machines at a time.
  • Review Operation Sheet to assure all previous operations have been satisfactorily completed.
  • Setup and operate the equipment in a safe and productive manner.
  • Maintain part and identification during processing.
  • Verify completed operations match blue prints
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Able to read blueprints
  • GD&T Training & Understanding
  • Able to use and understand standard and metric measuring systems.
  • Use of standard measuring tools.
  • Able to work individually and in a team environment.
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) Experience beneficial.

Working conditions
  • May be exposed to industrial oils, toner, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesive and other chemicals. NOTE: All safety precautions will be used.
  • Plant wide climate control and air conditioning
  • Could work in areas with excessive noise. NOTE: Ear protection available.

Physical requirements
  • Could require intermittent and long periods of sitting and/or standing.
  • Required to do repetitive work.
  • Periodic lifting of materials not to exceed 50 pounds.
