Job description

Bongards is looking for an energetic, motivated and dedicated individual to join our day shift production team as a Slice Line Grinder Operator. The grinder operator is responsible for maintaining a constant supply of cheese for the assigned line.
Job duties:
  • Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practice protocols for PPE and Cleanliness (Handwashing, Uniform, Tools, etc)
  • Able to react quickly to resolve unforeseen issues
  • Opening of all barrels and blocks of cheese needed for the production run.
  • Recording of weight and other pertinent information.
  • Verifying cheese is clean before going to the grinder.
  • Operation of the grinder.
  • Communicate with the blend set-up, cooker operator and lead.
  • Work in a safe and proficient manner (Lockout/Tagout of grinder)
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing of machines, all work areas after production is finished
  • Keep work area neat, clean and organized
  • Work in a safe, efficient manner in a fast paced team environment
  • Must report all food safety and quality concerns to immediate supervisor or their designated replacement

Skills and Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent Math, Reading and Writing skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines

  • Ability to work independently on assigned duties
  • Adaptable to sudden changes and willing to learn new skills
  • Knowledge of HMI screens, computers, and PIT is a plus
  • Be a dependable member of a team
  • Ability to work in Cold and Warm environments
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Must adhere to and follow all Safety, GMP, other quality guidelines
  • Must report all food safety problems to immediate supervisor or designated replacement
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs

Schedule:
  • Day Shift 5:30am to 6:00pm Monday - Friday, frequent Saturdays
