About the Role

Coastal Security Services, Inc. (CSSI) is hiring full-time Healthcare Security Officers to join our team at medical facilities in the Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, and Hardeeville, SC area. Officers will provide security coverage across hospital campuses, medical centers, and free-standing emergency departments. This is a critical role in a fast-paced healthcare environment where you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure setting for patients, visitors, and medical staff.

Compensation

$20.00 $21.00 per hour | Full-time, 40 hours per week | Overtime paid at 1.5x for all hours over 40

Schedule

Our healthcare facilities operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Officers work 8-hour shifts on a rotating schedule. The specific shifts requiring coverage are:

  • Day Shift: 6:00 AM 2:00 PM
  • Evening Shift: 2:00 PM 10:00 PM
  • Overnight Shift: 10:00 PM 6:00 AM

Primary coverage needs are on evening and overnight shifts. Weekend availability (Saturday and Sunday) is required. Candidates must be able to work a rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays. Once assigned, you will receive a consistent weekly schedule.

What You Will Do
  • Patrol and monitor hospital grounds, emergency departments, and patient care areas
  • Respond to security incidents, codes, and emergency situations in coordination with hospital staff
  • Control access to restricted areas and manage visitor entry
  • De-escalate confrontational or disruptive situations involving patients, visitors, or individuals in crisis
  • Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement when required
  • Maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times in a clinical setting
Requirements
  • Valid South Carolina SLED Unarmed Security Officer Registration
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule including evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong verbal communication and de-escalation skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in hospital or healthcare security
  • Experience with less-than-lethal (LTL) equipment
  • Prior military or law enforcement experience
  • De-escalation or crisis intervention training
