Job description

White Sky Technologies specializes in systems engineering and technology management solutions for U.S. Government clients. We are committed to meeting our customerโ€™s needs with a dedicated and highly qualified workforce.

We are seeking a Cloud Administrator / System Administrator to join our growing team. This position requires a TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph. You will be instrumental in providing support to our Development, Operations and Security teams. You will join a team of 10+ who work together to provide full-lifecycle support to a software application providing audio ingest, storage, query, playback, analysis, and transcription capabilities. The application is used by national and tactical analysts on small systems (laptops) and large systems (multi-node clusters). Given there flexibility of the application, we have several development and deployment platforms which we are required to stand up, maintain and tear down. We often perform hardware refreshes requiring knowledge of our system infrastructure requirements and scalability needs. At times you will be expected to work alongside hardware vendors in generating hardware specifications and obtain quotes. As a multi SSP owner out team is responsible for all vulnerability patching associated with STE/STN initiatives.

Required Skills:
  • Hands-on experience supporting IT infrastructure including server installation, rack/stack activities, cabling, hardware troubleshooting and system bring-up
  • Ability to configure and troubleshoot servers to ensure proper network connectivity and accessibility
  • Linux System Administration experience and common troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Ability to follow, create and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies is a hands-on infrastructure environment
Desired Skills:
  • Experience supporting virtualization technologies such as VMware, Xen or Nutanix is a plus
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or similar configuration management technologies is a plus
  • Understanding system patching, vulnerability remediation and security compliance requirements is preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • This position requires the ability to lift, move and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds as part of routine system maintenance, server installations and hardware troubleshooting activities
  • Candidates should be comfortable performing physical infrastructure tasks, including rack installation, cable management, equipment replacement, and hands-on system support
YOE / Degree Requirements:
  • Cloud Administrator Skill Level 1(CA1): 5years with a Bachelorโ€™s in Computer Science (or related field) or 9 years without the degree

Salary range - $165,000-$190,000, based on qualifications/experience
