SUMMARY
The All Shop Lead serves as the senior technical expert within the Bike and Snow Service Center and is responsible for delivering exceptional service, maintaining quality standards, training technicians, and supporting the overall success of the service business.
This position performs advanced bicycle, ski, and snowboard service work while ensuring repairs are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. The All Shop Lead works directly with customers to assess service needs, recommend solutions, and deliver an outstanding service experience.
In addition to technical responsibilities, this role assists with technician training, workflow coordination, quality control, and service department operations. The All Shop Lead serves as a key technical resource for customers, store associates, and leadership teams.
This position is ideal for an experienced bicycle and snow sports technician who enjoys hands-on work, customer interaction, mentoring others, and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads daily service operations within the Bike and Snow Shop
- Performs advanced bicycle repairs, ski tuning, snowboard tuning, and equipment assembly
- Assists with training and development of service technicians
- Maintains quality control standards for completed work
- Supports stores ranging from approximately 7,500 to 30,000 square feet
- Supports annual store sales volumes ranging from approximately $1 million to $9 million
- Serves as the primary technical resource for customers and associates
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Service Excellence
- Perform advanced bicycle repairs, assembly, maintenance, and diagnostics
- Perform ski and snowboard tuning, mounting, adjustments, and repairs
- Ensure all work meets company quality and safety standards
- Maintain accurate and complete electronic service records
- Review completed work for accuracy and quality
Customer Experience
- Consult with customers regarding repair needs and service recommendations
- Recommend products, parts, and services that enhance performance and safety
- Communicate repair timelines and expectations clearly
- Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the service process
Training & Technical Development
- Assist with training and mentoring service technicians
- Share technical knowledge and best practices
- Support technician skill development and quality standards
- Participate in product clinics and technical training programs
Operational Support
- Support online order fulfillment and assembly requirements
- Maintain service department organization and cleanliness
- Assist with inventory control and operational compliance
- Support company initiatives and store objectives
REQUIREMENTS
- One year of lead shop experience or demonstrated experience serving as a senior technician
- Two years of bicycle shop, ski shop, service center, or related retail experience
- Strong knowledge of bicycle assembly, repair, diagnostics, ski tuning, and snowboard service
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to train and mentor technicians
- Passion for cycling, skiing, snowboarding, and outdoor recreation
Travel Requirements
- Minimal travel required
- Occasional participation in technical clinics, training events, and community activities
