Job Description:

The Ski Shop Technician at Golf & Ski Warehouse is responsible for promoting and maintaining a store culture that is consistent with Worldwide Golf’s values, including the “Sure No Problem” philosophy, which has made Worldwide Golf what it is today. "Sure No Problem" means putting the customer first, and doing whatever we can to ensure a memorable and positive customer experience.

Job Summary:  The Ski Shop Technician is responsible for the tuning, waxing, mounting and binding adjustments of incoming skis, snowboards as well as the company lease inventory.  The anticipated consumer turnaround is 48 hours unless otherwise agreed upon.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Tune skis, snowboards and lease equipment, inclusive of edge grinding and base work, with an anticipated turnaround of 48 hours.

  2. Mount bindings to skis (both system and flat mount) to the proper din specifications.  The tech must have current certifications to mount bindings from each of our manufacturers.

  3. Test bindings adjusted or installed, per information provided by the customer.  Confirm that both the toe and heel pieces meet the manufacturer’s requirements.  The understanding of and abidance of the annually updated indemnification chart is required.

  4. Inspect boots being used in mounting process to assure toe and heel pieces meet the depth requirement.

  5. Communicate issues and concerns to store management when a problem exists with the equipment.

  6. Complete the paperwork required for the work performed and personally signs and dates where required.

  7. Must be proficient in the use of a Grindrite ski tuner (or something similar) as well as an edge grinder and base waxer.

  8. Clean and maintain the equipment and workspace daily.

  9. Other duties assigned by store management.

Ideally, the prospective candidates will have ski and boot sales experience.  While the anticipation is that the amount of shop work will dictate a full 40 hour work week, the flexibility to work the sales floor is a plus.
