Position Summary

A healthcare organization is seeking a Lean Six Sigma Project Director to lead a site-wide operational excellence transformation initiative. This leader will be responsible for driving Lean adoption, improving patient throughput and operational performance, managing a portfolio of process improvement projects, and building a sustainable culture of continuous improvement across the medical center.

Key Responsibilities Lean Transformation Leadership
  • Lead and oversee the organization's Lean transformation strategy and roadmap.
  • Partner with executive sponsors and operational leaders to align improvement initiatives with strategic goals.
  • Drive measurable results related to patient flow, quality, efficiency, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Establish governance, accountability, and sustainability plans for continuous improvement efforts.
Project & Program Management
  • Manage a portfolio of Lean Six Sigma projects from assessment through implementation and sustainment.
  • Develop project charters, A3s, timelines, communication plans, and performance measures.
  • Identify risks, implement countermeasures, and keep stakeholders informed of project progress.
Performance Improvement
  • Analyze operational and process data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead workflow redesign, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and process optimization efforts.
  • Track project outcomes, operational metrics, and return on investment.
  • Implement standard work, visual management tools, dashboards, and performance management systems.
Coaching & Change Management
  • Serve as a Lean coach and change agent across the organization.
  • Train and mentor leaders and frontline teams on Lean methodologies and continuous improvement principles.
  • Support leaders in developing action plans, performance measures, and leader standard work.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with clinical, operational, quality, patient safety, IT, and administrative teams to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Identify and lead enterprise-wide improvement opportunities that leverage best practices and shared learning.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Engineering, Nursing, or related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt required; Master Black Belt preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience leading Lean, Six Sigma, operational excellence, or transformation initiatives within healthcare.
  • Proven success implementing sustainable process improvement programs and delivering measurable operational results.
  • Strong project management, facilitation, change management, and executive communication skills.
