HOURS: Eight hour shift M-F within 5:00 am to 6:00 pm MST operating hours. 

TRAVEL: 50 - 100%


JOB PURPOSE: 

Provide onsite and remote training on Synergy Student Information System and related products to Edupoint's customers.  


JOB SUMMARY: 

A SIS Trainer I coordinates with department management to schedule and provide onsite and remote product training to Edupoint's staff and clients. Additionally, a SIS Trainer I may help to administer webinar events or product demonstrations as part of their regular duties.


A SIS Trainer I also works as a team to create training plans and materials to ensure successful training events with the most up-to-date product information possible.


JOB DUTIES: 

  • Maintain competency in all areas of the application as new features are added
  • Utilize various delivery methods as appropriate for training presentations which may include both onsite and remote presentations conducted in person, by way of Go-To-Meeting, through Webinars, Lunch and Learns, small group training and one-on-one training
  • Collaborate with other Product Units and departments within Edupoint to schedule and provide:
  • Training and onboarding for internal and remote Edupoint staff
  • Onsite and web based training of Edupoint customers 
  • Assist with the creation of and maintenance of quality procedure, training guides, documentation and materials
  • Promote the best practice guidelines for the training of Edupoint software
  • Present a positive, friendly and helpful attitude to all Edupoint customers and staff
  • Ability to travel extensively, 50-100% of working hours spent traveling
  • Periodically, as needs arise, participate in Open SIS CRC ticket resolution
  • Establish positive client relationships and ensure client satisfaction
  • Create, review and edit software documentation
  • Attend or facilitate internal training sessions
  • Comply with any and all other requests/special projects from Edupoint management
  • Adhere to established departmental procedures at all times
  • All other duties as assigned


JOB REQUIREMENTS-KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:   

*Knowledge:    

  • Knowledge or background in K12 Education
  • Proficiency in computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, incident tracking systems
  • Understanding of relational databases
  • Synergy Student Information Systems knowledge preferred

*Skills:   

  • Experience conducting technology training
  • Extraordinary customer service skills with the ability to go beyond the client's expectations
  • Exceptional analytical skills and ability to utilize creative problem solving techniques
  • Excellent business/technical verbal and written communication skills; must communicate in a clear and professional manner during telephone calls, e-mail communications and with peers
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong industry and business area knowledge
  • Must be flexible and able to perform a variety of duties and multi-task
  • Must have strong attention to detail

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in conducting technology training
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in training, customer service and/or quality assurance
  • Experience working with web-based applications (IIS)
  • Experience in a K-12 education environment is preferred, other education and experience will be considered
  • Experience with developing training guides and materials

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

Work may require sitting and/or standing for long periods of time; also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies, occasionally lifting files, objects or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, copier and other office equipment as necessary. Hearing must be in the normal range for telephone and video conferencing contacts. Visual acuity necessary to work extended hours on computer screens. Ability to work in an environment with moderate noise and which can be fast-paced and project intensive. Frequent travel in the performance of duties will be required.
