Job Summary: 

Assist in the performance of scheduled, preventive, corrective maintenance and configuration on DRTS following technical manuals, preventive maintenance checklist in InSITE, or industry best practices when no checklist is available. Records all maintenance activities in real-time in InSITE. Adheres to warranty terms for maintained items, tracking them by part number, serial number, and location. Monitors hardware baselines, reverting to previous versions if updates fail.

Job Description:

V2X has a requirement for a Simulator Technician, I on the Warfighter-Training Readiness Solutions (W-TRS) to support at the Digital Ranges Training Systems (DRTS) at Fort Benning, GA. The Simulator Technician I applies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, performs such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes. This person works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician. Work is checked frequently for accuracy.

  • Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, and feel.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, hear and understand English.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Work is subject to high noise levels and vibration.
  • Work is performed in an environment with high dust, pollen, and wind.
  • Requires physical presence around high voltage, machinery, and unprotected heights.
  • Work may require protective clothing and equipment for feet, hands, head, eyes, and ears.
  • Ability to lift and carry items not to exceed 50 lbs.
  • Physical dexterity to push/pull, climb/balance, bend/stoop, twist/turn, kneel/crouch, crawl, reach overhead, grasp, use feet for foot controls.
  • Ability to stand unaided for eight (8) hours or more.
  • Knowledge of range operations
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work under deadlines while adhering to all applicable safety guidelines and installation Standardized Operating Procedures
  • Experience working with military units.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and insight, to understand the overall effect of decisions.
