In this role, the Flight Simulator Technician prepares the Simulation Training Equipment for daily operation, such as performing the visual alignment and the pre / post flight. Carries out and evaluates Simulation Qualification testing (QTGs) and performs preventative maintenance for each training device, based on the published monthly schedules. Loads appropriate exercise scenarios and other tasks required to prepare for specific training sessions, while also completing Journey Logs at the start and finish of scheduled training sessions.

Description
  • Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on simulators and associated simulator systems.

  • Assist in diagnosing and correcting issues on simulators and associated simulator systems.

  • Utilize the maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.

  • Complete all designated training activities.

  • Perform preflight and postflight tasks on designated simulators.

  • Perform basic visual alignments.

  • Run automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG).

  • Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.

  • Learn and comply with the CAE quality management system.

  • Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner.

  • Perform housekeeping functions to maintain simulators as required.

  • Perform logistics duties, including parts receiving, repair, testing, and validation.

  • Perform administrative tasks as required.

  • Perform tasks supporting the technical services group as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 2year technical degree OR 4 years of experience in an electronic, avionic, or other technical field.

  • Minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules.

  • Ability to interpret system prints and schematics.

  • Proficiency operating test equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generator, logic analyzer).

  • Knowledge of analog and digital theory.

  • Computer literacy (PC and/or computer mainframe/architecture).

  • Proficiency in soldering and circuit board repairs.

  • Some knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.
