Job description

The Flight Simulator Technician II is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting high-fidelity flight simulators to ensure availability, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on simulators and associated systems
  • Diagnose and correct routine and intermediate-level technical issues on simulators and supporting systems
  • Assist with advanced troubleshooting and corrective actions as needed
  • Perform daily pre-flight and post-flight checks on assigned simulators
  • Conduct visual alignments and in-depth visual system adjustments
  • Run, analyze, and evaluate Qualification Test Guide (QTG) results
  • Support simulator refurbishments and hardware modifications
  • Utilize the maintenance management system to document, track, and close maintenance activities
  • Train and mentor technicians in basic technical skills and standard procedures
  • Complete all required technical, safety, and compliance training
  • Actively pursue ongoing professional development and technical growth
  • Learn, follow, and comply with the CAE Quality Management System
  • Provide timely customer service support and respond effectively to customer needs
  • Perform logistics duties, including parts receipt, repair coordination, testing, and validation
  • Maintain simulator cleanliness and perform housekeeping duties as required
  • Complete administrative and documentation tasks as assigned
  • Support the Technical Services group with additional tasks as needed

Required Education & Experience
  • Associate (2-year) technical degree or equivalent related technical training
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct simulator experience, including at least 1 year on simulators relevant to the assigned location

Technical Skills & Competencies
  • Ability to troubleshoot to the system level on multiple simulator platforms
  • Proficient in the use of standard test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators)
  • Ability to use and interpret diagnostic tools across multiple simulator types
  • Capable of performing preventive maintenance, pre-flight, and post-flight checks on fleet simulators
  • Ability to perform in-depth visual adjustments and setups on at least one visual system type
  • Experience supporting refurbishment projects and hardware modifications
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Additional Requirements
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)
  • Strong customer service mindset and ability to work in a training-center environment
