Summary

Perform a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, or optical areas in support of UH-60 Flight Trainers located In Taichung City, Taiwan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Leading a team of Technicians performing preventative and corrective maintenance on UH-60M or similar simulator

  • Performing software modifications and subsequent tests, as well as assisting engineering team with design changes and software enhancements

  • Ensuring maintenance activities are tracked consistently in our maintenance management system

  • Performing pre-flight and post-flight activities and checks, including visual alignment, running & evaluating Qualification Test Guide (QTG) results

  • Providing oversight on the preparation of simulators for regulatory evaluations

  • Supporting our customers directly to identify and resolve issues affecting availability

  • Supporting logistics including parts received, repairs, and testing & validation

  • Managing the learning and development of other Simulator Technicians and Apprentices

  • Install, maintain, repair, calibrate and test flight simulators, and other support equipment

  • Install changes and updates to simulators and support equipment as required

  • Perform required readiness checks on flight simulation equipment and instruments

  • Conduct and document preventative maintenance checks required for simulator and support equipment

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and document malfunctions of simulators and support equipment

  • Remove and replace faulty equipment and complete maintenance data collection records

  • Assist with installation and check-out of simulator and support equipment modifications

  • Assist with general field site facility activities as required

  • Work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions

  • Apply comprehensive knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents

  • Perform other related duties as required by the supervisor or site manager

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant engineering field or a two-year electronic technician resident course at an accredited technical institute and/or military technical training and equivalent electronics maintenance experience on equipment of similar complexity

  • Must have at least 4 years' electronic maintenance experience and have demonstrated competence by satisfactory progressive performance in electronic maintenance on simulation systems of comparable complexity to those supported on this program

  • This position requires experience in large-scale integrated multi-computer systems, video generation and display systems, large-scale complex digital interfaces, high density cable/plug repair, software maintenance, and comprehensive troubleshooting and repair of general training device peripheral systems

  • This is an overseas Field Service position and may require travel to other overseas locations.

  • Prospective employee must be able to work independently and interface with the customer and home office when on travel.

  • Direct experience with simulators and simulator systems (maintenance, fault finding, defect resolution)

  • Experience in team leadership roles

  • Must be a US citizen and fluent in English.

  • Must possess or must be able to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance.

  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladder into a simulator or airplane cockpit.

  • Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top of or under the device.

  • Must be able to detect odors or hear noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect problems or flaws in the functioning of simulators and its surrounding environment.

  • Must be able to distinguish colors.

  • Shop floor environment.

  • Will be working in areas w/ risk of electrical shock from electronically moving mechanical parts.

  • Will at times be exposed to the following conditions: extreme heat, airborne particles, loud noises.
