Overview

Touro College of Dental Medicine invites applications for part-time (2 days/week) Preclinical Faculty in the Touro Dental Clinic. The Preclinical Education component is divided into the teaching of the Basic Sciences and the teaching of the Preclinical Education dental courses. This position directly reports to their Course Director at the Touro College of Dental Medicine and indirectly to the Director of Preclinical Education, Preclinical Faculty.

Responsibilities
  • Attend all lectures and lab sessions on time and prepared.
  • Make lectures and presentations as requested by the Course Director.
  • Are familiar with and abide by all course syllabi and course calibration materials.
  • Make entries as needed into the Canvas Learning System.
  • Supervise and assist students in Sim Lab with all exercises.
  • Notify Course Director of any student(s) having difficulty with course material.
  • Assist in administering all quizzes, exams, and lab summative exams.
  • Assist in grading summative exams as needed.
  • Are aware of all safety protocols in Sim Lab and Incident Form entries as needed.
  • Participate in one-on-one meetings with students as needed by Course Director.
  • Participate in committee meetings as assigned.
  • Participate in university, school and other meetings as scheduled.
  • Pursue other academic activities as time permits outside of course schedule.
  • Qualifications

    Education/ Experience

    • Doctor of Dental Surgery or Doctor of Medical Dentistry required.
    • CPR Certification required
    • Dental License Registration
    • DEA Number

    Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

    • Strong attention to details required
    • Effectively manage and organize daily tasks independently and with a team while balancing multiple projects and meeting deadlines required
    • Accuracy and productivity in completing tasks required
    • A high degree of interpersonal competency: professionalism, diplomacy, judgement, and discretion required
    • Demonstrated ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues required
