How much do Notaries get paid per signing?

Notaries who perform signings typically earn between $75 and $200 per signing, depending on the complexity, location, and whether they are independent contractors or work for a signing service. Experienced notaries with additional certifications may charge higher fees, and some may also receive additional compensation for travel or extra services.

The main difference is that a Signer primarily facilitates the signing process of documents, while a Notary Public is an official authorized to verify identities and notarize documents. Notaries often serve as Signers but also have additional legal responsibilities and credentials. Understanding these roles helps clarify their distinct functions in legal and financial transactions.

Can you really make money as a notary?

Signers, or notaries, can earn money by charging fees for notarizing documents, with income depending on the number of appointments and state fee limits. Many notaries work part-time or freelance, and some expand their income by offering mobile services or additional certifications. Earnings vary widely based on location, experience, and marketing efforts.

Which notary job makes the most money?

Among notary-related roles, signing agents or mobile notaries tend to earn the highest income, especially when handling complex or high-value transactions. Experienced signing agents who work independently and have specialized certifications can charge higher fees per appointment, increasing their overall earnings. Income varies based on location, workload, and expertise, but top earners often supplement their income with additional services or by working in high-demand areas.
