Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Merchandise the portfolio of brands in retail outlets (On and Off premise) in accordance with specific company, supplier and brand standards. Support the sales divisions with marketing assistance in serviceable accounts. Use negotiating and selling skills to achieve monthly goals. Cover sales routes as needed for reps on PTO, during team-sell periods, or holiday weeks.

 

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

Merchandiser:

- Make calls to assigned on & off premise accounts according to our service policy’s frequency schedule to maximize all displays, point of sale, and cold box opportunities and enhance sell through.


- Set merchandising priorities based on acquiring the best display locations to ensure high visibility for both display and signage. 


- Install displays according to set procedure and specifications

- Responsible for Beer Code monitoring, rotating, communication to managers of close to code and out of code situations and documenting hand slips for the product


- Monitor, maintain and improve shelving and cold box placements, including assisting the sales divisions with new placement locations. 


- Shelf strip all beer, wine, and RTD brands and packages in cold box and warm shelf with pricing to maintain positions and market our products


- Complete all display bookings, install neons, pool table lights, clocks, refrigerators and other POS materials in On and Off premise accounts within 1 week of booking. Document all installations with photo in KARMA.


- Set up salesrooms and event sites for kickoff meetings and events according to manager’s specifications. 


- Deliver and pickup single barrel draft units with proper invoicing. 


- Deliver glassware and large promotional kits to on premise accounts. 


- Maintain a clean, orderly, properly stocked van to maximize efficiency in accounts.


- Schedule van’s state inspections, oil changes and other maintenance as needed or required by state law.


- Make emergency deliveries as directed by manager 


- Assist sign shop with sign making that may consist of designing and printing signage, cutting/applying/installing indoor/outdoor small-large format signage


- Assist POS Warehouse personnel with will calls, POS documentation and storage, retrieval of materials, and loading/unloading single barrel draft units as directed by manager.


- Manages route to ensure work priorities are completed in a timely manner.


- Support daily delivery operations by working on the trucks as needed during staffing shortages


- Sampling and special event overtime work available


Relief Sales Representative:

  • Provide coverage for Sales Representatives during vacations, leaves, or open territories.
  • Maintain and grow existing accounts by establishing strong relationships with customers.
  • Ensure product distribution, placement, pricing, rotation, and promotion aligns with company standards.
  • Execute sales plans and promotional programs as directed by sales management.
  • Monitor and manage product inventory levels; place orders as needed to ensure in-stock position.
  • Identify new sales opportunities within assigned accounts and communicate them to the appropriate team.
  • Accurately complete daily call reports, recaps, and any assigned paperwork


Prosell Sales Route:

  • Maintain regular call frequency on all assigned retail accounts
  • Follow structured GROW sales call process by channel
  • Complete all administrative duties: AR, EDGE Surveys, IRIS Cooler Surveys, Tap Surveys, Display Surveys and any other Survey that may come up, work orders, promotional activities on time
  • Maximize distribution, display, shelf space, point of sales, and promotional activity for all current and new brands and packages
  • Comply with all legal guidelines, WEA, AOE and A-B retail standard


Accountabilities:

  • Provide documentation on time and as required by Managers
  • Provide Beer Code audits on time and as required by Managers
  • Merchandiser is responsible for having the issued tools with him for every sales call: Screw gun, ladder, staple gun, clipper gun, phone, camera, etc. – Merchandiser is responsible for replacing issued tools at their own expense. 



MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

High School diploma necessary – no specific degree required


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

MENTAL AND VISUAL REQUIREMENTS:

 

Moderate mental and visual attention required for performing manual work, machine operation, set-up, inspection, and adjustments that require frequent decisions to detect and adjust for variance from proper operation. AND/OR Operate mobile equipment in congested areas or involving considerable variety of movement.

 

 

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

 

Must have the ability to remain stationary for an extended period of time, ability to move about and position self to be able to create displays, ability to ascend and descend ladders and stairs, and perform repetitive motions. 


Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
