Job description

Description: SYSTEMS RESOURCE MANAGEMENT, INC. (SRM) is looking for an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join our team supporting Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can work independently, and wants steady work in a clean, professional machine shop supporting important Navy programs.

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with overtime opportunities available when workload demands.

Responsibilities: The right candidate will be experienced in setting up and running HAAS CNC lathes, including the SL40, SL30, ST30SSY, and TL-1. You should be comfortable making offsets, editing G-Code when needed, reading blueprints, checking your own work, and holding tight tolerances. We are looking for someone who can walk into the shop, get set up, and make quality parts with minimal supervision.

Youll work with a solid team of machinists, engineers, and technical leads to machine a wide variety of parts using materials such as stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, plastics, and carbon steel. The job also includes deburring, cleaning parts, maintaining your work area, and helping keep the shop organized and running efficiently.

Experience with manual machines and general shop equipment such as Bridgeports, grinders, saws, drill presses, and other fabrication equipment is a plus. Strong mechanical ability, attention to detail, and a team-first attitude are important.

Pay & Benefits: We offer competitive hourly pay along with an additional $5.09 per hour Health & Welfare benefit. Employees also receive paid holidays, paid vacation, paid sick time, a 401(k) with potential company match, and Health, Dental, Vision, Life, and Long-Term Disability Insurance.

Qualifications: Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma, GED, trade school background, military machinist training, or equivalent hands-on experience. Candidates must also be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.

If youre a dependable machinist looking for steady work, good benefits, and the opportunity to support meaningful Navy programs, wed like to hear from you.
