Job description

We're hiring a proven production leader FASTSIGNS of Hilliard is looking for a hands-on, accountable Production Manager to lead our back-of-house operations. This role requires someone who can manage a team, streamline workflows, ensure exceptional product quality, and keep jobs moving - all while creating a culture of pride, efficiency, and ownership. This isn't just about printing signs. It's about leading people, owning throughput, and building a high-performance production floor. What You'll Do Leadership & Workflow Management
  • Own the daily production schedule and job queue using Corebridge and internal systems.
  • Ensure every team member in the back-of-house knows exactly what they should be working on each day.
  • Run daily Production Workstart Meetings to align the team, communicate priorities, and prevent bottlenecks.
  • Manage the full production lifecycle - from design handoff to output, finishing, QC, and delivery/install coordination.
  • Oversee production across multiple stations and team members, ensuring smooth handoffs and clear accountability.
  • Manage and schedule installations with both in-house and external installer partners.
  • Conduct and coordinate site surveys as required to prepare for accurate quoting and successful installations.
Team Development & Accountability
  • Train, coach, and cross-train the team on equipment, materials, processes, and safety protocols.
  • Set clear expectations and follow up with consistency to drive accountability and performance.
  • Foster a proactive, problem-solving team culture that values craftsmanship and continuous improvement.
Quality Control & Final Product Oversight
  • Ensure every job leaving the building meets our high standards for quality, accuracy, and finish.
  • Reduce errors, reprints, and waste through strong process control and training.
  • Promote clean, safe, and organized work areas.
Materials, Equipment & Maintenance
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of materials, substrates, vinyls, inks, etc.
  • Order supplies as needed - avoiding overstock while ensuring job readiness.
  • Operate and oversee maintenance of:
    • Epson SureColor V7000 UV Flatbed
    • Epson SureColor S60600 Roll-to-Roll Printer
    • Kala Mistral Laminator
    • Mimaki CG-160 FXII Plotter
What You Bring
  • Proven success managing production workflows and leading a team in a sign shop, print facility, fabrication environment, or similar.
  • Strong ability to organize, prioritize, and move multiple jobs through production efficiently and on time.
  • Deep technical knowledge of printing, laminating, cutting, vinyl application, and sign-making processes.
  • Clear, calm communicator who can coach peers and drive team-wide accountability.
  • Able to manage people and product - not just machines.
  • Proficient with production software (e.g., RIP platforms, Corebridge, Flexi, Onyx).
  • Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs, standing for long periods, and working with tools and substrates hands-on.
Bonus Points For
  • Experience with vehicle wraps, ADA signage, LED-lit or dimensional signs.
  • Install or fabrication background (including CNC/router or electrical signage).
  • Experience training teams or implementing new production systems or layouts.
