Job description

We are looking for a team-player who is willing to learn all aspects of sign making. The Sign Shop Production Specialist position will be responsible for producing non-electrical signs made from digital prints or cut-vinyl and installing them on substrates, windows, walls, buildings and vehicles. The position includes setting up files for production and some sign designing.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years’ experience in the sign industry is preferred but will train the right person
    • Competent in large-format digital printing, lamination and mounting to substrates
    • Skilled in cut-vinyl lettering production, weeding, application and other table work
    • Knowledge of sign-industry substrates, media and products
    • Familiarity with Adobe Suite preferred - most work is done in Adobe Illustrator
    • Must be able to measure and cut materials accurately
    • Good manual dexterity is required
    • Skilled in using hand and power tools (drills, saws, etc.)
    • Ability to handle physical workload and a fast-paced environment
    • Must be physically fit and able to lift 50lbs
    • Must be comfortable working from ladders and boom lifts at various heights
    • Deadline and detail-oriented

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with sales team and designer to ensure accurate fulfillment of the job order within expected timeframe
  • Assist customers in-person, over the phone and email
  • Run and maintain the digital printer, laminator and cut-vinyl plotter
  • Run and maintain other sign production equipment and tools (saws, drills, etc.)
  • Apply prints / vinyl to substrates
  • Install signs, lettering and / or graphics to vehicles, windows and buildings on-site and off-site at customer locations
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and materials
  • Assist with design and setting up files for production
  • Assist in keeping common areas clean and tidy with safety in mind
