Position Overview
Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of the Rockies is looking for a motivated, dependable, and customer-focused individual to join our team in a unique hybrid role. This position combines junior plumbing work, warehouse support, and in-home sales.
The successful candidate will assist experienced plumbers with installations, independently complete basic service calls, maintain warehouse inventory, and visit customers' homes to evaluate their needs and provide estimates. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build a plumbing career while developing valuable customer-service, estimating, and sales skills.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with tools, staying organized, communicating with homeowners, and recommending solutions without using high-pressure sales tactics.
Key Responsibilities
Plumbing and Installation Support
  • Assist senior technicians with plumbing and HVAC installations.
  • Prepare work areas and trucks and order materials for scheduled jobs.
  • Complete basic plumbing services such as drain cleanings, replace garbage disposals, and other minor plumbing repairs.
Customer Estimates and Comfort-Advisor Duties
  • Visit customers' homes to assess plumbing concerns and discuss solutions.
  • Identify appropriate repair, replacement, or installation options.
  • Explain recommendations clearly and in homeowner-friendly language.
  • Prepare accurate estimates using company pricing and estimating procedures.
  • Present customers with suitable options at different price points when appropriate.
  • Answer questions honestly and help customers make informed decisions.
  • Follow up on open estimates and maintain accurate customer records.
  • Coordinate approved work with dispatchers, technicians, and warehouse staff.
  • Build trust through professional, ethical, and low-pressure communication.
  • Look for legitimate opportunities to improve the customer's comfort, convenience, safety, and plumbing reliability.
Warehouse and Inventory Support
  • Receive, inspect, label, and store incoming materials and equipment.
  • Pick and stage parts for upcoming jobs.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and notify management when stock is low.
  • Keep the warehouse, shelving, and material-storage areas clean and organized.
  • Restock service vehicles and installation materials.
  • Track damaged, missing, or returned items.
  • Assist with supply-house pickups and job-site deliveries.
  • Help ensure technicians have the correct materials before leaving for their jobs.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of plumbing, construction, or hvac experience is required.
  • 3-5 years of customer service experience is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing/hvac tools, materials, and residential systems
  • Strong customer-service and communication skills.
  • Comfortable discussing pricing, preparing estimates, and recommending solutions.
  • Willingness to learn and accept coaching from experienced technicians and managers.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team.
  • Basic computer, tablet, or smartphone skills. ServiceTitan experience is a strong plus.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass any required background check.
  • Plumbing apprentice registration or relevant certification is preferred
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to work in crawl spaces, mechanical rooms, garages, and other confined areas.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb, and work with tools for extended periods.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles and material-handling equipment, once authorized.
