Job description

Job Title: SHUTTER AND SCREEN INSTALLER

Department: Installation

Reports to: Install Dispatcher & Local Office Manager

Job Summary:

Install and service hurricane shutters, motorized screens, and related systems on residential and commercial properties.

Essential Job Duties:
    1.Measure and assess installation sites to ensure proper fit and function of shutters and screens.
    2.Install accordion, roll-down, Bahama, colonial shutters, and motorized screen systems using hand and power tools.
    3.Mount tracks, guides, and housing units to walls or ceilings using appropriate fasteners.
    4.Connect electric motors, control switches, or remote systems for motorized units.
    5.Cut materials (aluminum, screen, etc.) to fit designated openings.
    6.Secure units to buildings and make final adjustments for smooth operation.
    7.Remove or replace damaged parts and perform repairs on existing systems.
    8.Test units for proper operation and alignment after installation.
    9.Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure service expectations are met.
    10.Complete work orders and collect payments upon completion when required.
    11.Maintain cleanliness of job sites and follow all safety procedures.

Essential Job Skills/Requirements:
    1.Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills (normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent).
    2.Must possess a valid state driver's license or be able to obtain one prior to employment.
    3.Ability to lift up to 80 pounds repeatedly.
    4.Must be able to perform physical activities such as climbing ladders, lifting, balancing, and stooping.
    5.Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, rain, wind).
    6.Strong problem-solving and mechanical skills to evaluate issues and find solutions.
    7.Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with customers.
    8.Must follow all safety protocols as outlined by company policy.
    9.Ability to install multiple shutter or screen systems per day based on job type and scope.
