VBM Waste Solutions | Part-Time Evening Porter Position


@ [Wiregrass - 20303 Stone Oak Pkwy, San Antonio, TX 78258]


VBM Waste Solutions is hiring dependable team members to service apartment communities throughout San Antonio and surrounding areas.

This part-time evening position is ideal for individuals looking for consistent supplemental income and an active work environment. Porters collect bagged household trash and cardboard from resident doorsteps and transport it to the property’s on-site compactor using their own pickup truck. No off-site dumping is required.


What You’ll Do

  • Collect bagged household trash and flattened cardboard from resident doorsteps
  • Carry and load collected trash into your pickup truck
  • Transport trash to the property’s on-site compactor
  • Unload trash at the compactor
  • Walk apartment communities, including stairs and outdoor areas
  • Identify, photograph, and document service violations
  • Use required mobile apps to clock in and out and submit reports
  • Follow route instructions, company procedures, and directions from supervisors
  • Provide dependable and professional service to residents and property staff


Pay and Schedule

  • $16 per hour, depending on the assigned route and position
  • Sunday through Thursday evenings
  • Shifts begin at 8:00 PM
  • Guaranteed 18 paid hours per week
    • Sunday: 6 paid hours
    • Monday–Thursday: 3 paid hours per night
  • Applicants must be available to work the assigned Sunday–Thursday schedule.

Requirements

  • Personal open-bed pickup truck
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Current automobile insurance in your name or showing you as a listed driver
  • Smartphone with an active data plan
  • Willingness to download and use required company apps
  • At least 18 years old
  • Reliable attendance and transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to follow procedures and accept supervision

This is a physically demanding position that involves walking throughout apartment communities, repeatedly climbing stairs, lifting and carrying trash bags, loading and unloading your vehicle, and working in both indoor and outdoor areas throughout the shift. Property layouts and working conditions vary by location.
