Position Summary
This position is in-person only.
The HR Generalist & HRIS Administrator is primarily responsible for full-cycle payroll processing, HRIS administration, reporting, compliance, employee support, and data management. Approximately 90% of this role is focused on payroll processing, HRIS management, analytics, and HR operations. Recruiting and onboarding are secondary responsibilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Independently process biweekly payroll from start to finish using an HRIS/payroll platform.
  • Audit payroll data including timecards, deductions, garnishments, taxes, and adjustments.
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee pay concerns.
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity and process employee status changes.
  • Create and analyze payroll and HR reports using Excel, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and formulas.
  • Partner with payroll and HRIS vendors to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Provide exceptional support to team members regarding payroll, HR systems, policies, and HR-related questions.
  • Maintain personnel records and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Support policy administration, reporting, audits, and compliance initiatives.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and orientation activities as needed.
  • Travel to regional worksites as required and perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum three years of hands-on payroll processing experience with responsibility for full-cycle payroll administration.
  • Experience with Paycor, Paycom, ADP, Paylocity, UKG, or a similar HRIS/payroll platform.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, formulas, and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience working directly with payroll or HRIS vendors to resolve system issues.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and HR compliance requirements.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen, theft-related background check, and be insurable under the agency's automobile insurance policy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Paycor payroll and HRIS systems.
  • Experience supporting a multi-location workforce.
  • Experience in a nonprofit organization.
  • Professional certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, CPP, or FPC.
