Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Knoxville, TN (Onsite / Hybrid: 2–3 days in office per week outside of month-end close)

Salary: $95,000 – $105,000 / year (depending on experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly driven, analytical leader for the role of Financial Planning & Analytics Analyst III based in Knoxville, TN. In this highly visible position, you will act as a trusted thought partner and analytical advisor to system and executive leadership—including regular interactions with the CFO. You will support system-wide value creation through pro-forma modeling, ad-hoc analyses, financial reporting, and the management of decision-support systems.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can bring structure to ambiguous requests, and possesses the communication skills to translate complex data into clear, actionable financial storytelling for enterprise leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Modeling & Strategy: Develop and maintain complex financial proformas, forecasts, variance analyses, and volume/productivity models to assess the financial impact of major enterprise decisions.

  • Executive Support: Produce and present concise, high-quality reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership; actively participate in Monthly Operating Reviews (MORs).

  • System Management & Data Integrity: Implement, update, and audit financial modules within decision-support and benchmarking systems (e.g., contract analytics, costing, market share). Ensure seamless data reconciliation from source systems.

  • Budgeting & Benchmarking: Coordinate external benchmarking submissions, resolve data discrepancies, and support the annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes alongside Managed Care and Reimbursement teams.

  • Leadership & Mentorship: Serve as a backup for department leadership. Mentor, train, and cross-train junior staff to ensure continuity of critical FP&A processes.

Position Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from an accredited program.

  • Experience: Minimum of six (6) years of healthcare financial experience, or an equivalent combination of advanced education and experience.

  • Technical Proficiencies:

    • Advanced Excel skills (complex modeling, pivot tables, large dataset manipulation).

    • Experience with dedicated FP&A tools (e.g., Strata, OneStream) and ERP financial systems.

    • Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI preferred).

  • Core Competencies: Proven experience navigating complex operational systems, working through unstructured requests, and successfully collaborating across cross-functional clinical and corporate departments.

Comprehensive Benefits Package

We offer a robust and competitive health and welfare benefits program designed to support you and your family's overall well-being.

  • Health Coverage: Comprehensive medical options through BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (Network S), featuring coverage for covered inpatient and outpatient services at wholly owned healthcare facilities.

  • Premium Wellness Discounts: Access to a voluntary wellness program to earn medical premium discounts.

  • Dental & Vision: Three tier options through Delta Dental (Basic, Preferred, Premium) and comprehensive vision coverage via MetLife.

  • Income Protection: Company-paid Basic Life and AD&D insurance. Voluntary Short-Term and shared-cost Long-Term Disability plans are available to secure your income.

  • Financial & Lifestyle Perks:

    • Student Loan Repayment Assistance:

    • Retirement Planning: Eligibility to participate in a 401(k) plan through Fidelity Investments after 90 days, featuring employer matching contributions for eligible hours.

    • Flexible Spending Accounts: Pre-tax Healthcare and Dependent Care FSAs managed via EBC.

    • Supplemental Plans: Voluntary access to Whole Life Insurance (combined with Long-Term Care), Critical Illness, Accident Insurance, Legal Club protection, Norton LifeLock Identity Theft protection, and Pet Insurance.

  • Time Off: Generous Combined Time Off (CTO) accrual program incorporating holidays, vacation, and sick leave

Work Environment & Culture
  • Hours: Standard business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) with occasional flexible hours required during the first-week month-end close cycle.

  • Culture: A collaborative, team-oriented, and fast-paced environment built on a foundation of accountability, continuous process improvement, and strong partnership across health system operations.
