Job description

Shore TankermanMagnolia Marine Transportation (MMT) has an opening at our Vicksburg location for a Shore Tankerman. This position is responsible for assisting vessel crews in conducting cargo transfers, solo cargo transfers, equipment repairs, communications of equipment deficiency, cooperation with shoreside facilities in the safe and USCG compliant cargo transfer, provider leadership, guidance and training in tanking to vessel crews, and reporting unsafe conditions and nonconformities and solving corrective actions to the supervisor.We are a great company with competitive pay and great benefits. We are a family-owned company and pride ourselves on maintaining a small company feel.Shore tankerman qualifications:High School graduate or equivalent preferredMust hold a Valid Driver's LicenseMust hold a valid TWIC card.Must hold a U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential with a tankerman endorsement.At least three years as a licensed tankermanAbility to maintain a good working relationship with all employees.Good working knowledge of MMT barges and oil transfer proceduresShore tankerman Responsibilities:Assist towboat crews in conducting cargo transfers.Conduct cargo transfer operations when towboats are not present.Responsible for repairs to equipment found to be deficient and or reporting these deficiencies to proper personnel.Work with shoreside facilities to ensure that cargo transfer operations are conducted in compliance with current Coast Guard regulations and MMT policies.Provide leadership in tanking to vessel personnel by giving on-site training and guidance and performing written evaluations.Responsible for reporting unsafe conditions and nonconformities to the supervisor, for taking action to prevent accidents, and ensuring appropriate resolutions.MMT is an EOP/AAP employer.Employment is contingent upon a pre-employment drug test and background check.Job reference: shore tankerman
