Job Summary:
The Repair Station Shop Supervisor II leads and directs teams of direct labor shop employees in theRepair Station. The Repair Station Shop Supervisor is accountable for maintaining a safe workingenvironment and adhering to quality standards and is responsible for meeting customer demandschedules within established cost goals. Plans, coordinates, trains and supervises shop labor
resources to achieve on time delivery of high quality, reliable repairs. Supervision encompasses morethan one shift and includes employees with considerable variation of skills, and employees who arehighly skilled within a specific area.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide inputs (resource planning, overtime projections, productivity improvements) tomanagement to develop monthly and annual budgets
  • Assist Value Stream Manager with required monthly reporting to senior level management
  • Estimate personnel needs and assign work to meet completion dates
  • Plan shop OTJ certification requirements by product line based on sales plans and volumeestimates. Schedule, coordinate, and track progress on the training required to certify therequired number of personnel on each product line
  • Lead daily Repair Cell walkthroughs and work with Lead Technicians and the Repair Cellmembers to ensure that 95% or more of orders are processed through shop statuses in 6calendar days or less. Aggressively work to resolve any tooling, test equipment, training orpersonnel issues preventing the team from achieving this objective
  • Review and understand daily key performance indicators to evaluate the status and gap toplan, and use this data to drive daily problem solving (8 Step, 5 Why, Cause and Effect,Fishbone) where required
  • Take actions necessary to get day-to-day problems and conflicts resolved; analyze backlogreports, receipt trend reports, WIP cost trend data, CARs, Out of Tolerance Reports and shopKPIs and determine actions required to aggressively resolve any noted issues
  • Serve as liaison to other groups and/or functional areas to resolve engineering, quality,personnel, technical documentation, reliability, compliance and/or material issues impactingthe Repair Station
  • Ensure that all product processed through the Repair Station is serviced, inspected and/ortested per customer specified, approved technical data
  • Evaluate and recommend process improvements and changes in methods, equipment orprocedures in assigned areas of responsibility. Implement improvements in workflow andmethods. Foster and lead 5S and continuous improvement activity in the repair station
  • Propose and support Capital Equipment Requests (CER's) as necessary to support RepairStation operational requirements


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience within a CFR -145 Repair Station or equivalentmilitary experience. At least 3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge: Must possess a current working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (CFR145), EASA-145 and CCAR-145 or be able to acquire this knowledge quickly upon assignmentinto the role.
  • Skills: Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Windows and MS Officeapplications.
  • Ability:Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment and build teamwork andcohesion between departments and groups within the organization, must be able to support customer and regulatory authority on site audits and visits andrepresent Crane in a very positive and professional manner
  • Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree. Possess or be able to attain a CFR-145 Repairman's Certificate.
  • Eligibility Requirement:This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred

  • Supervision encompasses more than one shift
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limitedto: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any otherrequired PPE
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures,confined spaces, dust or fumes
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary
  • Standing: 25% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

  • Mental/Visual: May require use of soldering equipment, microscopes/magnifyingglasses
  • Workspace (line, cube, etc.): Cubicle and frequent trips to the assembly cells
