Job description

We are looking for a Shop Foreman who will be directly involved with the pump/equipment repairs in the shop.  We would rely on this person heavily as the lead technician in the shop and would consider them the pump repair expert.  In addition, I would want them to own/manage shop operations to improve safety, organization, efficiency, and training. 

Job responsibilities:

  • The Shop Foreman will report directly to the Service Manager and General Manager, and will be directly responsible for managing, organizing, prioritizing, and executing all aspects of the service shop
  • Lead technician responsible for all in shop repairs and equipment rebuilds. 
  • Coordinate and supervise all daily operations in the service shop.
  • Responsible for estimating, labor planning, job scheduling, work assignment, job completion, and quality control in the service shop.
  • Troubleshooting complex service jobs by analyzing and coming up with solutions for repairing electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Implement strategies to optimize workflow and operational efficiency.
  • Engage with customers for any dispute resolutions and to ensure customer satisfaction with our services.
  • Work closely and maintain a professional working relationship with our vendors to ensure long term partnerships.
  • Work closely and maintain a professional working relationship with our service support staff to ensure efficient and timely job completion, with a constant focus on maximizing revenue.  
  • Assist in driving the business processes and profitability within the service shop.
  • Assist with the disciplined management process which ensures an efficient and safe work environment, including coordination and participation in regular safety training.
  • Assisting in hiring a technically competent service team that meets and exceeds the technical requirements of our customers.
  • Mentoring technicians to gain their trust and cooperation.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Shop Foreman or similar role
  • Experience in municipal, commercial, industrial, and/or construction service industries. 
  • Technical college degree or relevant Trade School certifications.
  • Knowledge of MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) systems. Construction/contracting experience with pumps, motors, and control systems is essential.
  • Proficient with typical Microsoft programs, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and capable of learning and utilizing all programs used by the business. 
  • Minimum 7 year of experience with Mechanical systems, service, maintenance, or sales, in a managerial position.
