Job description

Tate's Auto Body is a well-established collision repair shop known for high-quality repairs and exceptional customer service. We take pride not only in the work we do on vehicles, but also in the experience customers have when they pick up their car. Join our dynamic team as an Automotive Detailer / Shop Assistant, where your energy and attention to detail will shine! In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of vehicles, assisting with shop operations, and providing excellent customer service. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help ensure our customers leave satisfied and confident in their vehicle’s appearance. This paid position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop hands-on skills in automotive detailing and shop support while working in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough car washes, including exterior cleaning, and interior detailing to meet high standards of quality.
  • Conduct buffing, polishing, and other finishing tasks to enhance vehicle appearance.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the shop area, including janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and organizing supplies.
  • Assist with vehicle inspections and prepare cars for customer pickup or delivery.
  • Support shop operations by managing inventory of cleaning supplies and detailing products.
  • Drive company vehicles as needed for errands or vehicle movement within the facility.
  • Provide friendly customer service by answering questions, explaining services, and ensuring a positive experience for all clients.
  • Assist the front office and technicians with miscellaneous tasks

What We’re Looking For

  • Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to help where needed.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure quality results.
  • Comfortable driving a variety of vehicles. (manual is a plus but not required)
  • Experience with car washing, detailing, buffing, and general cleaning techniques a plus.
