Duties & Primary Responsibilities: The mechanic assistants at Young Supply Company are responsible for providing general shop help to the Mechanics while learning about fleet maintenance. They monitor work orders and shop tools, transport vehicles, stock and maintain parts for repairs, and clean and maintain equipment as directed.

Other Roles & Functions: Mechanic Assistants will be required to operate the equipment or vehicles that they are performing maintenance or repairs on. Some of the equipment includes vehicles, heavy duty trucks and trailers, forklifts, skyjacks, pallet jacks, and lawn equipment. This list is not all inclusive.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma
  • Valid state-issued Driver License and acceptable driving record
  • Desire to learn about different fleet mechanics
  • Strong ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety guidelines.
  • Strong problem-solving ability.

Preferred:

  • Willing to obtain CDL for test driving purposes
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Good communication skills
