Job description

Job Title: Dishwasher
Reports To: Restaurant Manager, Head Chef, Shift Leaders
Summary
The Restaurant Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, glassware, utensils, and
kitchen equipment. They play a crucial role in upholding the restaurant's hygiene standards and ensuring the smooth operation of
the kitchen.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Dishwashing
Operates the dishwashing machine efficiently, loading, washing, and unloading items according to established
procedures.
Pre-soaks and scrubs heavily soiled items as needed.
Washes items by hand when necessary, ensuring proper sanitation.
Inspects all cleaned items for cleanliness and any damage before storing or returning them to service.
Kitchen Sanitation
Cleans and sanitizes all food preparation areas, including countertops, sinks, and cutting boards.
Sweeps and mops kitchen floors, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Empties trash and recycling bins, ensuring proper disposal.
Cleans and maintains the dishwashing area, including the machine, sinks, and storage areas.
Organization and Efficiency
Stocks clean dishes, glassware, and utensils in designated areas.
Rotates stock to ensure freshness and prevent spoilage.
Assists with kitchen organization and storage as needed.
Additional Duties
May assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables or washing produce.
May assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications
Experience: Prior experience as a dishwasher or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and bend and stoop
frequently.
Other: Must be able to work in a hot and humid environment. & Must be able to work as part of a team and maintain a
positive attitude.
