Job Title: Shipyard Working Foreman

Location: Berwick, LA
Schedule: Full-Time
Pay: $30.00 Per Hour

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Shipyard Working Foreman to lead daily shipyard operations while actively participating in hands-on work alongside the crew. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, shipyard or marine construction experience, and the ability to coordinate personnel, equipment, and project schedules to ensure safe and efficient completion of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct shipyard personnel, subcontractors, and craft workers.
  • Lead by example by performing hands-on work as required.
  • Coordinate daily work activities to meet production schedules and project deadlines.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and job hazard analyses.
  • Monitor quality standards and ensure work meets customer and company specifications.
  • Review drawings, work orders, and project plans to assign tasks effectively.
  • Track labor hours, materials, and equipment usage.
  • Communicate project progress, delays, and resource needs to management.
  • Train and mentor crew members to improve productivity and workmanship.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of shipyard, marine construction, fabrication, or vessel repair experience.
  • Previous supervisory or foreman experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication, rigging, vessel repair, and shipyard operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and maritime safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with basic computer applications and reporting.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
