Shipyard Foreman


Qualifications:


  • High School or GED diploma preferred.
  • Previous experience in a foreman, superintendent, or similar role preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of new construction shipyard experience preferred.
  • Valid State Driver's License.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Promotes, executes, and adheres to the company's health, safety, and environmental program.
  • Leads and directs crew on their respective tasks.
  • Delegates projects to personnel for fabrication.
  • Familiar with USCG, ABS, and other regulatory body requirements.
  • Works with managers to assure work is consistent with bid procedures, equipment and manpower.
  • Responsible for keeping production on schedule and on budget while meeting quality requirements.
  • Provides updates to project managers on project progress.
  • Communicates to project manager any material and consumable shortages.
  • Reads blueprints to determine what fabrication processes are required for projects.
  • Communicate with employees to explain blueprints and assembly process.
  • Redline drawings as needed for incorporation into as-built drawings.
  • Inspects the quality of all fabrication work in progress and upon completion.
  • Attend meetings and training as necessary.
  • Works as a team member and leader.
  • Performs other duties as required based on company's needs.
