POSITION OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

A Shipping & Receiving Coordinator verifies and keeps records on incoming and/or outgoing items.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Check bills of lading for accuracy.

  • Process all inbound and outbound orders as trucks arrive and depart warehouse.

  • Coordinate shipping and/or receiving operations with Warehouse Lead.

  • Generate all paperwork/information required for customer work orders including responding to and checking status of special requests, expediting orders where necessary, tracking orders and posting inventory records.

  • Fill in shipping and/or receiving tally documents.

  • Organize mail slots with proper paperwork.

  • Schedule shipping and/or receiving appointments.

  • Communicate between customer and warehouse operations concerning the customers account/inventory.

  • Fold lot stickers as they print for receiving as necessary.

  • Apply lot stickers to both front and back of received pallet as necessary.

  • Update the DMS (Dock Management System) in a timely manner.

  • Execute all safety procedures and standards regarding the storage and receipt of goods.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduate or general education degree (GED) from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Basic reading, legible writing and arithmetic skills required.

  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.

  • High level of attention to detail.

  • Communication skills.

  • Comfortable working independently or as a team.
