Job description

The DC Supervisor under the guidance of the Director of Distribution or DC Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day distribution center activities, adjusting schedules as necessary in shipping, inventory and receiving. Responsible for distribution center accuracy, productivity levels and facility order. Train associates to ensure well-coordinated receiving, put away, picking, shipping and inventory control. Ability, willingness, and demonstrate the ability to train, teach, coach, and motivate team members in a changing high-growth environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to manage all aspects of the distribution center, including leading the team, inventory control which could include cycle counting, and safety responsibilities.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and returns departments including labor scheduling, supervision and the proper utilization of space, equipment and associates.
  • Responsible for leading, coaching, supervising, training, discipline, and hiring of distribution center leads and associates.
  • Addresses Associate relations issues of distribution associates in conjunction with the Distribution Manager and Human Resources.
  • Assure that customer orders are picked and shipped in a timely manner so that we make our service commitments.
  • Motivate and keep associates focused and on task; keep people highly efficient and productive.
  • Balance the unique nature of daily and weekly workload by adjusting staffing levels as necessary; keep overtime to a minimum.
  • Responsible for establishing and continuously improving operational procedures.
  • Compile daily measurements (orders received, returns processed, etc.) to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develops, maintains, and executes proper metrics for employee and operational performance.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of reports, distribution metrics, and operational dashboards.
  • Must be able to maximize the skills and talents of various team members and other resources available.
  • Primary contact for any quality issues.
  • All other duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor to meet company objectives.
  • Ensures daily functions of the shipping activities, 3plโ€™s, transportation suppliers, and compliance as it pertains to imports/exports.
  • Manages the procurement and performance of transportation suppliers and 3PL operations.
  • Work with all internal departments, TIDI Products, LLCโ€™s attorneys, and contracted firms to ensure TIDI Products, LLC is meeting its compliance obligations as it pertains to imported goods that are procured.
  • Performs employee annual reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (B.S. in Materials Management, Logistics, or related) or equivalent knowledge/experience.
  • At least 5+ years of Warehouse, Shipping/Receiving, and Inventory related experience in a distribution environment.
  • Proven supervisory experience or aptitude which includes having strong management, leadership, organizational and motivational skills.
  • Applying your knowledge of warehousing and distribution to enhance existing organizational strengths.
  • Proven experience in motivating, coaching and training team members.
  • Language Skills: The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of supervisors, managers, clients, customers, governmental agencies, and the general public. Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions, in mathematical or diagram forms and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate knowledge of Computer software programs for inventory management, spreadsheets, presentation, such as but not limited to Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; and Microsoft PowerPoint.
