What does the position entail? 

The Shipping and Receiving Assistant is responsible for overseeing the coordination of receipt and delivery of goods. Additional responsibilities included, but are not limited, to the following: 

  • The loading and unloading of trucks. 
  • Complete local deliveries and other errands on the company’s behalf. 
  • Picking and packing material for shipment. 
  • Staging material for delivery. 
  • Maintain a clean and clutter free shipping and receiving area. 
  • Light clerical duties including but not limited to printing drivers’ schedules, preparing shipping labels and material for third party shipments, and responding to inquiries on shipping statuses.  

Are you up for the challenge? If so, here’s what you need to have for the job: 

  • 1 to 2 years in a shipping and receiving role. 
  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience required. 
  • Good problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills. 
  • Exceptional organization, time management and multitasking abilities. 
  • Keen attention to detail. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and the ability to drive in any state. 
  • Ability to lift 50lbs without assistance, and up to 100lbs with assistance. 
  • Ability to drive up to 8 hours
