As a Shipping Manager, you are responsible for leading and scaling all outbound shipping operations within the facility. You oversee team performance, freight strategy, cost control, quality standards, and on-time delivery metrics. You own the final stage of the customer experience, ensuring every order leaves accurately packaged, properly documented, and on schedule. You drive accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence while building a high-performing team. This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You are expected to lead from the floor while thinking strategically about systems, staffing, and scalability.

What you’ll do

  • Own daily outbound shipping operations, ensuring on-time and accurate order fulfillment
  • Partner with Production, Quality, and Operations leadership to align shipping output with facility throughput goals
  • Resolve escalated shipping, freight, or carrier issues
  • Drive LEAN and 5S implementation within the shipping department
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to increase throughput and reduce errors
  • Improve packaging standards to balance cost efficiency and damage prevention
  • Oversee inventory management of shipping supplies and materials
  • Ensure accurate data entry and utilization of shipping and ERP systems

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of shipping, warehouse, or fulfillment experience
  • 2+ years of management experience in a manufacturing or fulfillment operations
  • Strong understanding of shipping systems and documentation processes
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Strong computer skills and ability to use shipping or inventory systems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with freight logistics and carrier coordination
  • Forklift experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment handling metal or industrial products
  • Experience managing multi-shift operations
  • Familiarity with freight rate analysis and carrier negotiations
  • LEAN or continuous improvement training
  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to repeatedly lift 25 lbs and lift up to 50 lbs
