The role of Warehouse & Shipping Operations Personnel is to be responsible for all inventory management along with shipping and receiving functions at Spring Creek Quail Farms.

To be successful in this position it is important to have strong organization and foresight skills. This role is an important one, as it is the final touch of our product before it leaves our facilities!

Reports to: Egg Operations Manager – Tyler Martin

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

The daily responsibilities and duties of Warehouse & Shipping Operations personnel are:

  • Loading and unloading deliveries and shipments
  • Organization of cooler space
  • Cooling & palletizing packaged eggs
  • Picking and preparing orders for shipping
  • Shipping & pickup scheduling and documentation
  • Organization of boxes and trays, maintaining constant supply for collection room

Other responsibilities and duties of Warehouse & Shipping personnel:

  • Sanitation of cooler and supply storage areas
  • Weekly egg inventory
  • Weekly pallet and packaging supply inventory
  • Occasional local deliveries or pickups
MEASURES OF SUCCESS

The Key Performance indicators for the Warehouse & Shipping Operations Personnel are:

  • Inventory turnover time
  • Shipping time and accuracy
  • % Scrapped inventory

Requirements

To have success in this role these qualifications and abilities are required:

  • Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize
  • Capable with inventory programs and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Able to safely operate a lift truck
  • 1+ years of experience in shipping and receiving, inventory control, order picking, or palletizing
  • Experience working in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or agricultural environment
  • Experience loading and unloading shipments
  • Experience picking and preparing orders for shipment and verifying orders for accuracy before shipment
  • Experience conducting inventory counts and reconciliation, including cycle counts or weekly inventory checks
  • Experience with stock control and inventory tracking, including monitoring packaging or material supplies to maintain operational readiness
  • Experience keeping warehouse or storage areas organized
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet shipping deadlines
  • Experience packaging and palletizing products for shipment and maintaining shipping accuracy
  • Experience in roles with responsibility for inventory, products, or shipping
  • Experience with shipping and receiving systems
  • Accurate data entry and documentation skills, including handling shipping documentation accurately and maintaining accurate records consistently
  • Experience performing physically demanding warehouse work; comfortable standing, walking, lifting, and moving products throughout a shift
  • Experience reducing inventory errors, waste, or shortages is a plus
  • Experience coordinating pickups or deliveries with carriers and handling shipping paperwork is a plus
  • Current forklift certification, if applicable, is a plus
