FS Staffing is seeking an experienced Freezer Shipping Supervisor for a leading food distribution center in Hartford, CT. This position is responsible for overseeing daily freezer shipping operations, ensuring accurate and timely product movement, and leading a team in a fast-paced cold storage environment. The ideal candidate will have experience supervising warehouse shipping operations and working in a food distribution or refrigerated environment.

Job Summary

The Freezer Shipping Supervisor oversees daily shipping operations within a temperature-controlled freezer environment. This role is responsible for supervising warehouse associates, coordinating outbound shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring food safety compliance, and meeting productivity goals while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily freezer shipping operations.
  • Lead, train, and develop shipping associates to meet operational goals.
  • Assign daily work tasks and monitor team performance.
  • Ensure accurate picking, staging, loading, and shipment of products.
  • Verify orders are processed correctly and shipped according to customer requirements.
  • Monitor workflow and make adjustments to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and movement of frozen food products.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety standards, GMPs, OSHA regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections of shipping areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety.
  • Coordinate with Receiving, Inventory Control, Transportation, and Warehouse Management teams.
  • Troubleshoot shipping issues and resolve operational challenges.
  • Maintain accurate shipping documentation and reports.
  • Monitor employee adherence to safety procedures and proper use of PPE.
  • Support inventory accuracy through proper product handling and tracking.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives within the shipping department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or food manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience managing shipping operations preferred.
  • Experience working in a freezer, refrigerated, or temperature-controlled environment strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of warehouse processes including picking, packing, loading, and inventory control.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
