How You'll Do It:

Under the direction of the Transportation Manager, the Shipping Specialist supports shipping, delivery, and logistics operations to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of quality bedding products while maintaining exceptional customer service and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily shipping, staging, loading, and delivery activities
  • Support scheduling and provide direction to drivers and/or third-party logistics partners
  • Train and support Materials Delivery Coordinators on dock operations
  • Manage shipping documentation, order records, and delivery tracking systems
  • Resolve driver, customer, and delivery-related issues
  • Coordinate returned goods inspections and maintain related documentation
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA standards, and DOT regulations
  • Assist with accident reporting, investigations, and safety initiatives
  • Maintain reports, records, and transportation-related metrics
  • Monitor vendor performance and service levels for third-party logistics providers
  • Support cost-effective transportation operations and labor utilization
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers to ensure successful order fulfillment
  • Identify process improvements and support special projects as needed
What You'll Bring:

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of experience in a lean manufacturing and/or JIT production environment
  • 1+ year of experience in a warehouse, shipping, and/or receiving role
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred:

  • Associate degree in Manufacturing, Materials Management, Business, or a related field
  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database software
  • Lean manufacturing training and/or certification
  • Previous experience training, mentoring, or leading others
Your Work Environment:

Must stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day or longer in overtime situations as required. Also must be able to lift heavy product or raw materials up to 120 pounds multiple times per hour during an 8-hour shift or longer in overtime situations to meet customer demand.Heavy loads must be team-lifted. A work pace that maintains integrity ofmake-to-order systemis required.

Safety-focused, fast-paced manufacturing plant engaged in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement. Work environment includes a clean and safe work areaandexposure to high noise decibels, hot raw materials, fire-retardant materials, and limited chemicals. Personal Protective Equipment is required to be worn for any hazards and is supplied by the company.
