Shipping Clerk
*$2,000 HIRING BONUS*

Sumitomo Electric Carbide Manufacturing is a rapidly growing manufacturer of high performance carbide cutting tools that serves the Automotive, Agricultural and Construction, Oil and Gas, Aerospace and Medical Industries.
Brief Description:
  • Prepare orders for freight, express or parcel post shipments in accordance with shipping practices and requirements.
  • Process shipment as specified in accordance with company policies and procedures. Create associated paperwork (ie: Bill of Landing, packing lists and other shipment documents).
  • Coordinate imports/exports including preparing receipts, tracking shipments, and updating/verifying shipping schedule.
  • Assist in assembly and labeling of packages.
  • Prepares packing slips for all outbound customers.
  • Responsible for accurately packaging and labeling outgoing orders. Checking quantity, type, size, part numbers, etc to properly identify materials.
  • Provide basic support within production areas as needed & other duties as assigned.
  • Accurately enters transactions into computer system, maintains records, and prepares receiving and shipping documents and reports.
  • Restock consumable items and maintain general housekeeping, clean production areas at the end of every shift & as needed. Contribute to the organization, cleanliness, and safety of the facility.
  • Verify accuracy of incoming products. Receive incoming materials checking to purchase orders or receiving slips. Inspect and put away incoming product and supplies. Issues and delivers material to the shop floor promptly.
  • Address shipping and receiving questions with internal staff and customers.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and troubleshoot any issues that arise. Maintain and promote an optimistic, positive, and growth-oriented approach to the job.
  • Load trucks.
  • Make shipping report.
  • Cross train and back up co-workers as required.

Job Requirements:
  • Experience creating bill of lading and packing lists
  • UPS Worldship experience preferred
  • MS Excel skills preferred
  • Ability to work in a team environment and train others
  • Ability to work independently and self-motivating
  • Ability to read & follow verbal & written instructions
  • Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly & stand for 100% of shift
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong basic math to calculate costs, verify quantities, and interpret documents
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing production needs
  • Positive "Can do" attitude
  • Knowledge of machine shop environment and operations preferred
