Global Packaging Container Company is looking for a Manufacturing Shipping Manager for our plant located at Kenosha, WI

A Shipping Manager has the overall responsibility for the distribution and warehousing of all finished goods, which includes picking, packaging, and shipment of products and materials. This position also involves managing and monitoring personnel and stock to best serve customers. A Shipping Manager promotes and maintains a safe working environment and is constant contact with suppliers and customers.

Main Duties & Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:

  • Monitoring employee performance in the shipping dept.
  • Assigning employees to pick, package, and ship products and materials to customers.
  • Reconciling daily shipping data and complete reports.
  • Monitoring shipments to make sure that specific customer requirements are met.
  • Developing ideas to improve the quality of products and procedures.
  • Communicating with customers.
  • Administrative tasks.
  • Being involved with the logistics throughout the many phases of the shipment process.
  • Actively communicating with all departments in the plant to ensure that all products are available for shipment according to expected shipping schedules.
  • Being responsible for the status of the warehouse/stored goods.
  • Being involved with quality control, and overseeing standard operating procedures.
  • Forklift operation when needed
  • other duties as assigned.

Essential Physical Functions:

  • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to consistently bend and stoop.
  • Must be able to withstand working in all weather conditions- Work environments are not climate controlled.

Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of related supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have general knowledge of assembly line manufacturing
  • Must have basic computer proficiency with Word, Excel, and Email. SAP knowledge is a huge plus.
  • Machine maintenance and processing knowledge a huge plus.
