Transportation and Warehouse Specialist

JOB Description: The Middletown, DE location is seeking a Transportation and Warehouse Specialist is responsible for coordinating transportation activities and supporting warehouse operations to ensure the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials and finished goods. This role manages shipping documentation, carrier coordination, inventory transactions, warehouse processes, and compliance with company safety and quality standards.
SHIFT: Looking to fill 3rd: M-F, 8:00pm - 4:30am. Weekends as needed.
TRANSPORTATION responsibilities:
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with carriers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Schedule shipments and maintain transportation schedules to meet delivery requirements.
  • Prepare and process shipping documents including bills of lading, packing slips, and carrier paperwork.
  • Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve transportation issues, delays, or discrepancies.
  • Communicate with carriers regarding pickups, delivery appointments, freight claims, and service concerns.
  • Verify freight charges and assist with transportation cost tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, carrier, and company shipping requirements.

WAREHOUSE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Receive, store, and distribute raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods.
  • Accurately process inventory transactions in warehouse management and ERP systems.
  • Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory activities.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks.
  • Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain organized warehouse storage locations and inventory accuracy.
  • Follow FIFO and inventory control procedures.
  • Support warehouse housekeeping and 5S initiatives.

qualifications
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
  • 2+ years of warehouse, shipping, logistics, or transportation experience preferred.
  • Experience using ERP, WMS, or inventory management systems preferred.
  • Manufacturing environment experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of transportation, shipping, and warehouse operations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
