The Warehouse Manager leads day-to-day operations of our New Castle warehouse. This is a critical leadership role responsible for training and onboarding new warehouse employees and for setting a consistent standard of safety, efficiency, and accuracy. Working closely with the Branch Manager, this role drives operational efficiency, ensures accurate and timely shipping and receiving, manages resources within budget, and upholds the company's commitment to customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Leadership & Supervision

  • Directly supervise the Warehouse staff, providing coaching, direction, and performance oversight.
  • Collaborate with the Branch Manager to align operations, and to coordinate with broader branch functions including sales, purchasing, production, and records management.

Warehouse Operations

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve operational procedures for all warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, material handling, and inventory management.
  • Utilize Traverse ERP system to monitor inventory levels, process transfer requests, and maintain accurate warehouse records.
  • Oversee the processing and disposition of returned, damaged, or surplus materials.
  • Operate forklifts and related equipment as needed, including performing pre-operational inspections and maintaining equipment such as changing liquified gas tanks.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Intra-Company Transfers

  • Coordinate the transfer of materials, inventory, and equipment between J&L branches, ensuring transfers are processed accurately in Traverse ERP and delivered on schedule.
  • Communicate effectively with Warehouse Managers and Supervisors at other branches to plan and prioritize intra-company transfers based on operational need.

Safety & Facility Compliance

  • Conduct daily inspections of the warehouse facility and equipment to ensure safe, clean, and compliant working conditions.
  • Initiate work orders for equipment repairs and submit requisitions for replacements as needed.
  • Actively participate in safety planning and facility protection initiatives, promoting a culture of workplace safety.

Training and Onboarding

  • Train and onboard new warehouse employees, ensuring they have the knowledge, skills, and safety training needed to perform their roles effectively.
  • Deliver consistent, hands-on training on daily procedures and safety protocols throughout the warehouse.
Requirements:


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of warehouse management or supervisory experience within the past 5 years
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Minimum 1 year of forklift operation experience
  • Ability to learn and navigate ERP or inventory management systems; Traverse experience a plus
  • Strong reading comprehension, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math skills including percentages, measurements, and proportions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree or higher in business, logistics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of warehouse operations experience, including experience overseeing multiple teams, shifts, or areas
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving ability in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory tracking software
  • Experience with OSHA compliance and workplace safety protocols
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Bilingual communication skills a plus
