ICP Group is looking to hire a Shipping Supervisor to join our team in Seaford, DE. This role will lead the Shipping Department to ensure all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed safely, efficiently and without damage.
In this role you will be responsible for the following:
  • Delegate daily assignments to Shipping Department employees ensuring all orders are processed 100% correct, on time and undamaged.
  • Ensure all Shipping Department employees are trained and follow all plant Safety rules and procedures. 
  • Ensure that Shipping Department employees are trained and consistently follow Shipping Department Rules and Procedures. 
  • Ensure all employees pay special attention to detail to ensure paperwork and appearance of outgoing product is 100%. 
  • Ensure all employees are familiar with the standard operating procedure and safe operation of the equipment, demonstrating proficiency in the company’s powered industrial truck safety program GS-1007.  
  • Ensure department responsibilities are carried out on a daily basis. 
  • Work closely with the shipping coordinator to ensure that schedules are adhered too
  • Responsible for the daily upkeep of assigned areas, and reporting maintenance issues. 
  • Train new employees on product locations and shipping department procedures. 
  • Takes a lead role in annual inventory and weekly cycle counts. 
  • Provide periodic written feedback to department employees. 
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement within the warehouses and Shipping department. 
  • Other duties as required. 
Requirements:
  • 3 Years Shipping and Receiving experience utilizing mid to heavy capacity, sit down forklifts. 
  • 3 Years’ experience leading small teams. 
  • Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, and ERP
  • Must have a positive attitude towards work and have the ability to mentor and motivate the team. 
  • Must be able to work effectively with other departments. 
  • Experience working within a safety culture in an industrial environment. 
  • The ability to lead by example, mentor, encourage, and discipline when necessary. 
  • The ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally. 
  • Experience managing inventory including cycle counting, warehousing layout and forecasting.
  • Familarity with Transportation Management Systems.
  • Experience navigating freight load boards.
  • Experience as a despatcher.
