Job description

Summary of Position

The Shipping/Logistics Specialist is responsible for the secure wrapping of completed customer orders. Once all orders are wrapped, they will be moved by the Shipping/Logistics Specialist to shipping trucks. Within this role, it is critical to ensure that all orders are shipped out correctly so that they match the exact specifications of customer orders. The Shipping/Logistics Specialist will utilize a forklift on a daily basis, and must handle all orders with care.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Fulfill orders in a timely manner using a forklift.

  • Wrap completed orders for shipment to customers.

  • Stay engaged and work closely with drivers to ensure detailed information on loads is relayed and completed.

  • Ensure adherence to load plan and that all loads are loaded, picked up, and delivered on time.

  • Conduct dock checks and make sure docks are clear.

  • Keep management and client services informed of any activities or potential issues that may delay shipping.

  • Immediately check in received products.

  • Follow company protocol for ensuring the correct items are shipped and delivered to customers.

  • Greet clients and build rapport by learning and meeting their shipping needs.

  • Other duties as assigned to meet company needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • Great attention to detail.

  • Communicate in a clear and professional manner.

  • Ability to operate a tablet camera to log completed orders.

  • Forklift operation. (Willingness to learn safe operating procedures).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to lift 35 lbs. on a regular basis.
