Job description

Job Title: Parts Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Location: Ourisman Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, Alexandria, VA
Position Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Parts Manager
Job Summary: The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for handling all incoming and outgoing parts shipments, ensuring inventory accuracy, and maintaining an organized parts storage area. This position plays a key role in supporting the dealership’s service and sales operations by efficiently managing parts logistics and maintaining excellent communication with suppliers and internal departments.
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming parts shipments for accuracy and quality.
  • Prepare and package outgoing parts shipments for delivery or manufacturer returns, ensuring proper documentation
  • Match packing slips with purchase orders and report any discrepancies or damages to the Parts Managers
  • Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy by performing regular bin checks and stock counts.
  • Maintain an accurate log sheet for daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting.
  • Prepare items to be shipped in appropriate shipping material
  • Tag, label, and shelve parts in designated inventory areas
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience in automotive parts, warehouse operations, inventory control, or a related logistics role preferred. 
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately match packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices. 
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation, complete logs, and follow established procedures for shipping and receiving. 
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. 
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lift or move items up to 50 pounds.
