Position Overview: Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily warehouse activities of the warehouse team; receiving, storing, picking, and shipping of products to meet DF Young’s standards of productivity, quality, safety, and customer service. This position is based in an industrial warehouse setting and is a position that is flexible to a wide array of duties within warehousing.



Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily tasks of the warehouse team which include the following:
    • Inbound: Unload trucks, trailers, flatbeds, containers of freight, counting products, compare to manifest to check all shipments for damage.
    • On hand inbound freight into Warehouse Management System
    • Hazardous Material freight and documentation awareness
    • Order Picking: Transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms with material handling equipment such as but not limited to fork trucks, or pallet jacks. Material handlers must be able to label, mark orders, band, bundle, wrap, over-pack, and palletize as required.
    • Build military pallets as required.
    • Load flatbed trailers.
    • Outbound: Compare quantity, labeling, dating, and address with order to ensure out-going shipments are complete and correct. Efficiently move product, cartons and or pallets into trailers or containers
    • Equipment: Maintain equipment in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. Operate equipment safely and efficiently. Comply with company standards and OSHA requirements.
    • Inventory: Keep accurate records and reports. Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts.
    • Package, block and brace ocean shipping containers in accordance with IMO regulations.
    • Utilize forklift as needed for receiving and loading. Forklift certification required to operate.
    • Document incoming and outgoing materials through in house tracking system.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Develop new strategies to streamline processes.
  • Manage, train, and develop staff.
  • Resolve problems that may arise concerning the warehouse.



Education Requirement:

  • High School Education or GED is required

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a warehouse environment
  • 1-3 years of experience in a management or team lead position
  • Knowledge of various computer systems and software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point,
  • OSHA Forklift and HAZMAT certification a plus
