Job Description Summary

The Warehouse Technician role will be able to transport, capture, and record all finished product, bulk product, materials, oil, and ingredients; monitor product quality, and waste streams; actively identify and solve problems which affect safety, quality, and production costs; working with the Warehouse Lead, Team Leaders, and Line Structure Teams safely and efficiently. The Warehouse Technician will be willing and able to seamlessly change positions between current ATL, Manifest, Loadout/Oil/Receiving, and Forklift Operations to meet plant needs on their respective shift to help reach Hermiston's CBN goals.

Job Description

  • Followsall plant safety policies and procedures.Be actively involved in safety,participatein safety programs, attend Shift Daily Direction Setting Meeting, engage in safety activities, perform riskassessments,anddemonstrateownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members.

  • Completesdaily safety/maintenance check forklift, record and report any malfunction.

  • Operates cohesively withadditionalWarehouse Technician team members in management of the Warehouse area; including but not limited to all job functions of ATL, Manifest, Loadout, Oil,Receiving,andForklift Operations.

  • Ensures that packagingmaintainsadequate amounts of materialsfor daily operations and removes and replaces all waste bins.

  • Observes and reports any quality issues with finished product, such as damaged packaging cases, damaged bags inside of cases, or inaccurate or illegible case codes and ensures that all products are ticketed in compliance with company standards and applicable laws.

  • Stores product in proper location in freezer, restacking, sorting, and organizing the freezer tomaintaina neat, orderly appearance,accurateinventory, even designated bin height, and location of product. Supplies product for blending, repacking, and shipment to cold storage as needed.Follows the procedure for FirstInFirst Out (FIFO), good housekeeping practices, and GMPsat all times.

  • Unloads oil by truck or rail, ensuring that all necessary documentation is properly filled out andmaintained.

  • Performs all duties associated with the startup and shutdown of manifest after each shift to ensure proper andaccuratedocumentation of product manifested per shift.

  • Completes allforms inaccurate,timelyand legible manner and canidentifycases, labels, cuts, colors, catalog numbers, day codes and acceptable case conditions.

  • Any other task as directed by Warehouse Lead or Team Leaders

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Certifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.


Skills andExperience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in warehousing, specifically in a food manufacturing or related field, preferred.

  • Abilitytoutilizemultiple touchscreen computer panels,operatepalletizer,stretch wrapmachinesand scan gun, and train on manifest printers, palletizer area conveyors, operation of roll-up doors, computer and Microsoft office programs and other equipment as assigned for multiple packaging lines.

  • Functions well inteamenvironment andcontributesto a positive and inclusive team environment.

  • Trained and qualified in ATL, Manifest, Loadout, Oil Receiving, and Forklift Operations.

  • Teammembermust be Lock-out/ Tag-out qualified. Ifqualification isneeded, training will be provided.

  • Read, understand, and adhere to all plant rules and safety policies as specified in the Lamb Weston Employee Handbook.

  • Practice proper body mechanics and safe lifting techniques.

  • Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a basic knowledge of computer operation, data entry systems when changing from one product to another, and the ability to type on a computer.

  • Language Skills:Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing.Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English.Ability to usetwo-wayradio to communicate.

Physical Environment/Demands:

  • Ability tolift upto50pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turnfrequently.

  • The noise level in the work environment can exceed 85dB.

  • Willregularly worknear moving mechanical parts.

  • Willfrequentlybe exposed to humid conditions as well as moderate heat.

  • May occasionally work around fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, and vibration.
