Precision Tools Service, Inc. a globally recognized leader in the automotive and machine tools industries has an immediate need for a Logistics Receiving Associate in our Columbus, Indiana office. Precision Tools Service, Inc. (PTS) operating in North America is a leader in the automotive and machine tool industry. PTS was established in 1988 and has grown to have twelve branches across the U.S. and one in Canada.

PTS is a subsidiary of Toyo Corporation, a Japan based distribution company that specializes in machine tools and precision measuring tools. They have been in business since 1955 suppling tools primarily to the Japanese automotive industry.

In 2017, PTS purchased an automation company operating now as PTS Automation, Inc. They provide products to fit our customers manufacturing needs such as panel components, robots, safety, electrical and pneumatic devices to name a few.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for supporting the Warehouse Manager by maintaining inventory counts and quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing product shipments. The associate is responsible for unloading delivery trucks and checking incoming shipments against product invoices, organizing, and storing shipments until they receive outgoing order requests and notifying the Warehouse Manager when product is not sufficient to fulfill orders. Overall, the associate is responsible for inventory accuracy, receiving, and shipping transactions as well as daily warehouse duties. This position is primarily set in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, including outdoor weather conditions, being hot and cooler.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Properly checks the items in inventory for damages or discrepancies.
  • Properly accounts for the location of incoming goods.
  • Assures no damaged items are sent or received.
  • Compares packing lists with company purchase orders and ensure that the products in each delivery match the packing list.
  • Follows all warehouse safety procedures, including those related to material handling, and operating warehouse equipment.
  • Ensures a FIFO (first in, first out) system is used for inventory.
  • Updates the product inventory as products are received and added to the inventory.
  • Sorting incoming and outgoing stock to ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Receiving, stocking, and stacking products efficiently to maintain organized storage areas.
  • Pulling, packing, and loading shipments for timely delivery to customers.
  • Packaging products for return to vendors and filling out any paperwork necessary.
  • Delivering items to customers as needed.
  • Ensure all required documentation necessary for compliance with occupational safety, and regulatory requirements are complete, accurate and current.
  • Keeps warehouse clean and sanitized and conducts cleaning activities according to schedule.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 6 months of warehouse and forklift experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others and take direction with minimal supervision.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good math skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Ability to work steadily and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable standing or walking for long periods.
  • Ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Able to operate forklift, pallet jack, and other standard warehouse equipment.
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Gmail, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Forklift Certification required within 30 days of job entry date; preferred certification prior to employment.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred experience with FEDEX and UPS shipping processes.
  • Driver's License.
