Job description

Position Summary:    

The Night Freezer Captain Receives, stores, and distributes products within establishments by performing the following duties. Verifying quality of product received and positioning received product from dock to pallet positions within the warehouse or out of these positions for forward pick position location picks if necessary.      

What you’ll do: 

  • Available to Work at Nights   

  • Work in the Freezer  

  • Operate a Stand-Up Forklift/Electric Pallet Jack / Ride On pallet jack   

  • Reads customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.  

  • Receives JIT transfer truck and AB meat truck assisting in breaking down pallets  

  • Conveys product and items from receiving or warehouse areas to storage or to other designated areas.         

  • (Sorts and places product or items on pallet, freezer bag, or in Bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code and maintain orders at temperature with dry ice)  

  • Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.  

  • Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests of product or other stock items and distributes items to warehouse dock to load.  

  • Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets, freezer bag, or Bins orders to packing station or shipping department and prepare for shipping.  

  • Label product with identifying information on each box  

  • Opens boxes, per customer order request of unit of measure  

  • Weighs or counts items for distribution of product to ensure conformance to customer request.   

  • Reports such as inventory balance, shortages, defective, unusable product and any discrepancies;  

  • Responsible for adhering to food security, food safety regulations and policies (PRIMUS, HACCP, CGMPs)  

  • RF Scanning  

  • Other duties assigned or necessary depending on company  

About you: 

  • HS diploma or equivalent;  

  • Certified to operate a pallet jack or forklift;  

  • Able to lift at a minimum of 50 lbs. consistently;   

  • Basic math skills; Basic Computer Skills  

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; with minimal supervision;  

  • Ability to communicate with others;  

  • Dependable work attendance and committed to accuracy and attention to detail  

  • Maintain a safe working environment and fulfills essential job functions in consistent state of alertness and safe manner  

  • Work in cold temperatures ranging from -10 to 50 degrees
