The Role
Aspen Technology is looking for individuals to join our growing Product Quality Team to play the role of Sr Software Quality Engineer including functional and nonfunctional testing (Performance and Test Automation testing) of Aspen Products providing next generation Engineering, Manufacturing and Asset Optimization solutions. This is your opportunity to play an important role in this cutting-edge transformation. We are looking for a Quality Engineer with a good understanding of software development practices to help us create and execute testing approaches for our market-leading products. This individual will create test strategies from concept, design, implementation, testing, documentation, support, and maintenance while assuring that the product line conforms to established requirements and standards. This individual will also be responsible for gathering functional requirements, information and data to proactively drive best practices from a quality perspective into the product while collaborating with R&D and Product Management.
Your Impact
  • Serve as an automation thought leader
  • Ability to create test procedures and objectives (including test environments, installation, upgrades, and configuration) in accordance with the technical specs
  • Ability to create automated scripts for system, integration, performance benchmarking, and scalability
  • Ability to maintain and execute test automation: UI, API, backend using PowerShell, Silk Test, Selenium, SpecFlow, Reqnroll, Playwright automation tools, C#, JAVA, Python, Power shell
  • Ability to engage with cross functional team on project updates and reviewing outcomes, and performance analysis
  • Good understanding of different deployment infrastructures, virtualization technologies, Cloud (PAAS/SAAS)
  • Ensure effective bi-directional communications between US, Shanghai, and Mexico City development centers
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
  • Engage with cross functional defect/enhancements reviews & triage meetings
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning- Prescriptive, predictive maintenance and machine learning algorithms
  • Experience with Agile methodology

What You'll Need
  • BS or MS in a field related to Chemical Engineering, Petrochemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in validating complex software testing projects
  • 5 to 8 years of working experience with test automation, performance, databases, and test tools
  • Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (in English)
  • Demonstrated ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Willingness to learn a range of business or technical specialties based on business needs
